Now that winter is officially here, I find myself looking for ways to wear some of my favorite items that are not quite winter ready on their own. I’ve found a few secrets for making an item like a maxi dress appropriate for winter (or at least a Texas winter).
The dress I picked is this gorgeous dark floral maxi with a sequined bodice. Unfortunately, I bought it several months back and it is sold out. BUT I found an ebay seller with multiple sizes available, so that’s definitely an option. For reference, I’m wearing a size 6 and am generally a medium to large.
1. The first step is simple – pick a jacket that you’re comfortable wearing indoors or out. I like a leather moto jacket like this one (under $100!) and the one I’m wearing has some stretch to the arms, so it’s really easy to wear, even inside. If it’s really chilly you could layer a scarf and a large overcoat like this or this.
3. This is the key step- layer a pair of cozy tights or leggings under the maxi dress for warmth (I’ve even worn my winter workout tights in a pinch). The skirt is flowy, so no one will even notice. These layers with the OTK boots will keep your legs nice and toasty!
I had to include this photo so I could mention the Huda Beauty lashes I wore. They were so dramatic and gorgeous! They are the Sasha #11 style.
I hope you enjoyed this post!
