A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to receive a gorgeous eye shadow palette c/o of Marc Jacobs Beauty and Influenster (insert ecstatic happy face here).
I received the 720 Glambition palette, which has a beautiful array of neutrals. There are 6 palettes in varying tones from blues, purples, cool and warm tones, inspired by the fashion of Marc Jacobs. Each palette includes multiple finishes – velvet, satin, silk and lame. I must admit, without close inspection the colors appear either matte or metallic, but all have a buttery feel when swatching. I do like the sound of velvet and satin eyeshadows though. Nice touch MJB.
The packaging is super luxe, as I would expect from a high end beauty brand, and the glossy black is very chic. There is something about the feel of good packaging that makes it more fun to use!
The dark colors are quite intense and blend really well. “The Most” a metallic, coral and gold pink is my favorite in the palette, of course! What does that say about me? Well, that’s a discussion for another day. The photos really don’t even do it justice. “Known For” is a beauty gold shimmer. Almost too gold for me, but once I tried it I really loved the it. The two lightest colors did not show up well on my swatches, but I like that the palette includes those for blending and highlighting the brow bone/inner corner. I’ve been using this as my daily eye palette for work and then using the darker colors to punch it up a notch. Last weekend I quickly used the palette before photographing outfits for the blog and even though I thought I was heavy-handed, it really didn’t show up as being too much! I’ll certainly be trying a more dramatic look with this soon!
