If you follow trends at all, I’m sure you have noticed that the off the shoulder look has been everywhere this past year. There are a lot of reasons to get behind this trend, my favorite being that off the shoulder tops are so flattering to so many people!
HOWEVER…this trend is not the best for work environments. I can pretty much wear what I like, but I found that off the shoulder shirts and dresses were incredibly annoying. Last year I sprung for this maternity/non-maternity off the shoulder dress. I was so excited to wear it that I wore it to work. I must have adjusted and tugged at the shoulders at least 100 times that day. And that, my friends, is not productive. Enter: The cold shoulder top!
Not only does it solve the readjusting issue, this style is much more work appropriate for more traditional / conservative offices. Paired with a pencil skirt, I felt like it would be more than appropriate for most settings (minus the court room).
This particular striped cold shoulder top is only $16 from SheIn! You will have to wait a bit because it does ship from overseas, but overall I thought their customer support was decent. I am wearing a size medium. One caution – the way the blouse buttons causes large gaps in the front, so you will need a camisole or bodysuit underneath.
My pencil skirt is and old item from Kenzo. It was not expensive but it was well made and has been staple in my wardrobe, especially the years that I worked in a more formal office setting. Everyone needs a good pencil skirt in their arsenal!
Accessorizing is always my favorite part! My husband surprised me with my first Chanel last Christmas so I credit his great taste for this cute bracelet! And this foldover clutch is just the perfect leopard print – I love the colors and the slightly modern take on a classic print! I feel like this clutch will go with so many outfits and can be dressed up or down!
Speaking of work, it’s time for me to wrap up and get ready for my work day. Happy Wednesday. I hope you dolls have a great day!!
